Top questions I get these days: Which new screenless band is the best? What is right for me?

Top questions I get these days: Which new screenless band is the best? What is right for me?
This is also what my team at Seveno Capital tracks every day, so instead of debating individually, here is a map to help everyone's thinking.
Garmin and Google entered that chat recently, which the media quickly labelled as "WHOOP KILLERS". But I think everyone is running different races.
- Garmin Cirqa (USD 199, no subscription): a training tool.
- Fitbit (now part of Google) Air (USD 99): everyday lifestyle monitoring with an optional AI coach. An on-ramp into Google's health ecosystem.
- WHOOP(USD 199 to 359/yr, hardware included): health and longevity coaching, now with FDA-cleared ECG on the MG band.
We also have POLAR Loop, Amazfit Helio (the OG Whoop-killer), Hume Health Band & OEM giant JC Vital Joint Chinese Ltd (J-Style)
And yes, there is a lot of rumour about Apple entering this category. Still, please look beyond the recent launches, because the bigger story is the CONVERGENCE of lifestyle and medical.
Bands that counted steps a few years ago, now flag heart rhythms and blood pressure, and regulators have started clearing them.
Lifestyle and medical are merging on the wrist, which is why the category shipped a record 50 million units in a single quarter last year.
One caution while everyone straps in: the "OVER-OPTIMISATION" epidemic is real. Treat a recovery score as a general guide, because losing sleep over a sleep score defeats the point!
So start with the job, then pick the band: training, monitoring, or managing your health.
Please feel free to suggest improvements to the map, and follow me Jean-Baptiste Roy, I'm building Seveno Capital, and I write about where training, recovery and the longevity stack become investable.
